A Happy Home is Like Heaven

The healthy Christian family is united by love as the man of the house finds a partner for life who is chosen by God like Isaac and Rebecca. Such partnership is enhanced by a relationship like that between Christ and the Church. Christ is the head of the Church as the husband is the head of the wife. The Church submits to Christ as the wife submits to her husband. Christ loves the Church to the point of giving His life for her as the husband sacrifices anything for his wife. Christ is united to the Church as the husband and the wife become one flesh.
So the Christian family is united by love, enhanced by purpose, blessed with children and enriched by the grace of the Lord.
The father has key position in the family that is why honor must be given him and wise children have joy when they do so. They must also accept the father’s discipline for their own good.
Mothers give important and great influence upon their children. Like to love God and obey and do His will regardless of the cost as the mother of Moses, to give Him first place in everything like the boy whose mom must have taught him to give the Lord his best so that he gave his five loaves of bread and two fishes to Jesus. A mother named Rispah was loyal to her sons even in their death (2 Samuel 21) and Mary showed her love and care for the Lord even in the cross (John 19:22-27).
A happy family goes through beautiful and exciting stages on its way to eternal happiness. It begins with a clean and godly attraction that must be watchful against a worldly and fatal attraction. Such love must choose the will of God and not a sinful relationship. The couple must unite in God’s time that begins with a Christian wedding and never commit immorality so that their happiness will be full. Let them enjoy a holy family life, raise up godly and faithful children, fulfill their life mission and grow old gracefully, not miserably. Finally they will enter heaven in glory with no regrets.
God blesses obedient children like the way he did to King Josiah (2 Kings 22:3-7) and the son who followed his father’s assignment in the Lord’s parable in Matthew 21:28-33; Luke 15:11-31.
God is the architect of happy endings of our love life (Ephesians 5: 22-6:3; Colossians 3:18-4:1) as we yield everything to him. This is His way of preparing us for eternity. For heaven is like a happy home.
