I Am Going and I Am Accountable

Apostle Paul showed his accountability by sending Timothy to Thessalonica church in order to establish and encourage the believers when he himself could not be with them personally.

The Bible tells in Amos 3:1, 2 that God holds people accountable for their obedience to God’s commands. Apostle Paul showed he was also accountable by reporting to the church in Jerusalem what he did together with his team during their first missionary journey (Acts 14:26-28). He further wrote in 1 Corinthians 4:1-5 that it is required that God’s stewards be faithful in their assignments.
We believers today are stewards of the resources God lent to us- like our leaders (Hebrews 13:17) to whom we must obey and submit and serve with joy. This is all because we will have to reap someday what we sow now (Galatians 6:7-10). That is why we must not get tired or weary in what we do for the Lord because they will surely bear fruit.
Therefore, a Christian must use every opportunity to do good especially to fellow believers. Let us not forget what the Lord told us in James 3:1 that He will give strict judgment for those who are teachers or leaders in the church.
Because of this higher standard for service our rewards will truly be greater and more satisfying too. As Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 2:9 “…Eye hath not seen or ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” If we live and serve the Lord faithfully and responsively, we will surely receive greater reward from Him. But reward is far from our minds now. What excites our hearts is the thrill of serving and doing His will ‘till He comes.
