Time Travelers on Our Way to Forever

The New Year reminds us to pause and think. The Lord wants us to remember the personal, corporate, material and spiritual things and run with endurance the race of life (Hebrews 12:2) while always growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 3:18)
God wants us to face the New Year like Habakkuk in 3:17-19. He wrote there that though the fig tree will not blossom and there will be no fruit in the tree vine; though the olive fruit fail and the field yield no grain; though the flock be cut off from the fold and there will be no herd left in the stall, yet he rejoices in the LORD and in the God of his salvation.

Apostle Paul in the book of Philippians adds more enlightening thoughts. He wants us to believe that He who began a good work in us will complete it until Jesus comes (Philippians 1:6). He reminds us that life is like a race where we press on to complete the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14)
In this life, we continue to do what is true, noble, just, pure, lovely and always taking hold of things of virtue and of good report (Philippians 4:8). All these are things that are of high standard that we can do only through the strength of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Philippians 4:13).
Let us imitate Habakkuk's faith as we hold on to God this 2015. We should also be like the apostle Paul, a leader for the Lord Jesus who cannot be stopped because his mind was always positive even during rotten days. These should rule our hearts as we travel through life on our way to forever.
