Press On with Stewardship

It's nice to be an owner. But sinners can never succeed as owners in the eternal sense. As humans, we can only achieve true joy and riches if we accept and do our best as stewards of God's riches and blessings. We recognize this stewardship when we give the Lord's tithes and our offerings.

Great men like Abran (Genesis 14:20) gave the Lord's tithes all through the ages. It is an act of grace created by God's Spirit (2 Corinthians 8:7), it is voluntary and a test of sincerity, a universal privilege, is proportionate to income and an act rewarded with joy (2 Corinthians 8:2), increases one's ability to give and thank God (2 Corinthians 9:12), and glorifies Him and the Gospel beyond measure (2 Corinthians 9:13-14). Any body who does not obey is robbing God (Malachi 3:8-12) and is subject to a curse. Those who obey is promised abundant blessings and the opening of the "Floodgates of Heaven that there will be no room enough" for them.
Giving is investing resources like farmers sow seed according to the John Maxwell Bible.
The next type of giving in a higher level is sacrificial giving.  This is giving even when it hurts like the widow in Mark 12:41-44.  She gave all her money to God and was commended by the Lord Jesus Christ.  In history, Israel gave sacrificially in order to build the tabernacle (Exodus 35:4-9, 20-29).  David also did the same when he gave his gold, silver, bronze and precious stones which Solomon used to build the temple of God in Jerusalem (1 Chronicles 29:3-5).
One more kind of giving is one done in faith.  The believer has no money but by faith promise gives a particular amount to support missionaries in local or foreign work.  He has no money at the start but believes by faith that God will give him a definite amount that he will give to missions.  This is the way most churches support missionaries and God honors this way of giving.  This was began by *AFBCP churches in 1958 at the start of PABWE (Phil. Asso. of Baptists for World Evangelism) and later of ABPE (Asso. of Baptists for Philippine Evanglism).
One more important lesson from God (last June 22) was the celebration of Father's Day as the stewardship of men.  It was a celebration of the father's position as one who was created first, and with it comes his duty to love his wife and children, as well as the responsibility to be a leader of family, church and country.

This reminds us all of the Fatherhood of God, the Sonship of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Motherhood role of the Holy Spirit.
God the Father is the Supreme head of the Holy Trinity and that upon the completion of all the ages and the plan of God for all creation, He will be the Supreme One for all eternity (1 Corinthians 15:24).
