Press On in these Last days

The reality of the last days is here. We are a people of the last days living in the final chapter of this borrowed time that will soon be a memory. Apostle Paul looked forward to this when he wrote I Timothy 4:1-7. He told about false teachings inspired by demons that will appear in the future. They will deceive some believers. Then Paul talked of terrible times in the last days in 2 Timothy 3:1-9. People will love themselves and will be disobedient, without control and become pleasure seekers.
But those who belong to Jesus Christ will be part of a spiritual house with a holy priesthood (I Peter 12:1, Hebrews 3:5-16, Philippians 4:18).
In these last days we are faced with the reality of the Rapture of Christ that will come anytime as in the days of Enoch when God took him away before the flood (Genesis 5:18) that happened during the time of Noah (Genesis 6).  Prophet Elijah was also raptured before the end of the kingdom of Israel (2 Kings 2:3-11).  This future rapture of the Church was revealed by Paul in I Thessalonians 6:13-15 in 51 A.D. and in I Corinthians 15:54-58 in 55 A.D.

The Lord Jesus Christ himself revealed the last years before the Rapture in Matthew 24:9-14, Mark 13:1-35 and Luke 21:5-36.  He said that in the last days before His Rapture and coming again, the workers will be few (Matthew9:35-38).   He also mentioned the last revival for Israel in Matthew 24:32-35.  Finally, the Lord told that people generally will be unprepared for His coming (Matthew 24:38-39, Luke 17:35).
Jesus emphasized how to get ready for His coming in the parables about the faithful and evil servants (Matthew 24:43-51), the Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1-3) and the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25:14-30.  Fruitful service will be given rewards of gold, silver and precious stones while fleshly service of wood, hay and stubble will be given judgment (I Corinthians 3:11-15).
It is our privilege to live in these final years of this age of grace.  Peter tells about the reality of scoffers of the last days (2 Peter 3:3-7) and of the importance to live holy lives (2 Peter 3:11, 14) so that we will be found spotless when He comes and at the same time speed up His coming.  Apostle John reminds us to test any movement or action that claims to be work of the Holy Spirit (I John 4:1-6).

Let us remember that these final days of the Church will prepare the way of the antichrist described as the beast out of the sea (Revelation13:1-10) and of his religious leader called the beast of the earth (Revelation 13:11-18).  Antichrist will experience a kind of death and resurrection (Revelation 13:3, Zechariah 11:15-17) that will make people believe Him as the Messiah.  This happens after the Church is Raptured and joins her Lord in the Marriage Supper of the Lamb (Revelation 19:9).
(And yet) John reminds us he who does not confess that Jesus Christ came in order to save us has the spirit of the world and of the antichrist (I John 4:1-6).
Because of all the above truths and realities, we are encouraged and to press on to the end.
